Ajax transit riders on Durham Region Transit Route 227 are facing a detour that will leave some stops without service until further notice.
According to Durham Region Transit, the reroute took effect October 30 and sends buses along Shoal Point Road, Bayly Street and Pickering Beach Road instead of the route's normal path. Customers should plan for delays of up to 10 minutes.
The transit agency said two groups of stops will be missed while the detour is in place: all stops on Range Line Road, and stop number 94290 on Pickering Beach Road southbound at Dreyer.
To help riders affected by the skipped stops, Durham Region Transit said a temporary stop will be placed on Dreyer Drive, eastbound at Pickering Beach Road.
The agency did not say how long the detour will last, listing it only as remaining in effect until further notice. Riders with questions can call Durham Region Transit at 1-866-247-0055 or reach the agency through its online customer comment form.
